Hold on to your thoughts
Lest they float away, or pop
Like the bubbles of your childhood play
Long gone.

Blue Mountain

The dream is mine, held close to the heart
Like a flame cupped against the wind.
Once I climbed a blue mountain.
All around, the air was crisp and clear
And the world was mine.

Rain fogs the windows
As my eyes blur with tears
Locking me into myself
And memories of another time
With you, when rain
Was a joyous occasion
Braved under a shared umbrella
Laughing faces mocking the skies
That mock me now.
